The One After 99… July 23, 2008

I just saw that my blog has gotten 99 hits since its inception! And I thought, instead of waiting for the kettle to boil, as it were, or waiting for the phone to ring, or to actually wait for the 100th hit, I would just celebrate the brink of the hundred.

Actually, there’s much more to celebrate than that. I just bought a MacBook!!! I’m SO excited. I’ve heard amazing things about everything Apple, so I hope it lives up to the expectations. I got the black MacBook, which has more memory. Also got Microsoft Office for Macs, a wireless printer, and an iPod touch. I’ll get a rebate on all of those because I’m a student – I got $100 off the Mac, $15 off the Office, $100 off the printer, and the 8G iPod touch for free! I’m living it up… and it’s not even here yet! Seriously, though… I’m stoked.

In other news slash things to celebrate, my favorite men’s barbershop quartet, OC Times, WON the Barbershop Harmony Society’s National Convention in Nashville, TN!!! I’m so excited for them… they’ve been working up to it for a very long time and they so deserve it. I wish I’d been there to see them… but we can’t have it all… I was in California at the time :P

Put me on a train July 17, 2008

I’m stoked about getting my very own laptop – a Mac, finally! It’s a graduation present, and I got to pick the one I wanted. Macs are pretty pricey, and I’ve barely even used one, but everything I’ve ever heard about them is that they’re just fantastic, so I’m very, very excited. I don’t know when I’ll get it. Soon, because I have to get over the learning curve before I leave.

I wish I was a computer buff. I wish I could do a bunch of awesome formatting and color techniques… And I’m thinking I might learn all that with a Mac. We shall see.

Anyway, I’m stoked about it, but I’m also almost tired of computers. I miss traveling and not worrying about who was emailing me (no one) or what everyone was saying on FaceBook (ha). I’d rather watch people all day and not talk to them, but maybe write about them. Gosh, how passive-aggressive is that?! Actually, I’ve never been labeled as such… I should take one of those personality tests, though. I’d sure want to know if I was dangerously insane. You’d think I’d know by now… but then, they say that the most insane ones don’t think there’s anything wrong with them.

But I digress. Basically, I’m excited about learning on my new laptop, and simultaneously excited about the prospect of ignoring computers. I want California.
